How to upload without ftp?

  • I’m new to wordpress as of today.

    I need to install a plugin.

    However, I have ftp turned off on my server, ssh is through an alternate port, and I don’t see a way to adjust that in the admin panel.

    I would like to just upload the zipped plugin to the server, and have wp access it from there.

    I see there is a plug in for that: “Add From Server”

    However, how can I install that from the server? Is there a way?

    The way I normally access the server (and would use that to upload the file to the server) is that I have it mounted as a drive. So I can get the zips to the server, but need to be able to install them from there. At least this first one (Add From Server) so I can add others.
