    Hey there ramesh_n33,

Hope you’re doing well today and thanks for your question!

BuddyPress Activity Plus actually isn’t meant to upload videos. The big issue here is the size. Depending your hosting, connection, it could take a long time to upload a video – this takes up server resources and could slow down your site.

This is why most sites you visit use embedded YouTube or Vimeo videos. It leaves all the heavy lifting up to the sites dedicated to hosting videos. This way you know that your video will be served up fast and efficiently each and every time(for the most part).

    Hope this helps ??

    Best regards,
    Bojan

    Thank You for your answer.
I can understand whatever you said, for mobile user will expect to upload videos from mobile right ? So why we cannnot allow them. we will do strong restriction for video upload as size=maximum 3MB,type=only .mp4 and 3gp..

I know this is possible, dont know how it could be…

    Hey again ramesh_n33,

I didn’t say this is not possible but rather not available in the current version of the plugin.

Something like that would have to be custom developed. What I can do is suggest this to our developer and if enough interest is shown for this in WPMU DEV forum we’ll definitely consider this for future development.

    Thank you for the suggestion.

    Best regards,
    Bojan
