I’m new to this and a bit confused, I am using adultblogger.net as my host. so when it says to upload wordpress to the host, can i do it there? amd if so, how do I do it. I think I have to download an ftp program first. is this correct? I’m not sure where on the site I am suppsed to upload it to.
    thank you for any help,
    debbie D

Th Codex article, Uploading WordPress to a remote host, should help you.

ok now I understand about ftp so my only question is this.

is adultblogger.net considered a host? I am not seeing a control panel so am guessing it is not but then why does it say host your blog here?

That’s a WordPress MU site so I’m guessing that they provide blogs and you don’t install WordPress yourself. Another example of free blogging with WordPress MU is https://wordpress.com

On the other hand, if you want your own site (e.g. debbied.dom) then you register and purchase that domain, find a hosting company that hosts your domain, and once you’ve made those decisions and purchases you then start installing WordPress.

thank you for the quick reply! Is blogvis.com the same as wordpress.com in the sense that you dont have to install wordpress?

but then if you dont have to install it, can I still use a theme that i got from another site? say at wordpress.com for instance?

Blogvis.com offers free WordPress blogs. In order to add a new theme, you will need FTP access or the host will have to do it for you-

Looking at blogvis.com’s homepage, they say they do upload themes by user request. That seems like it’ll satisfy your requirements. Thanks.
