how to upload a kml file and where?

  • Iv had a couple of attempts to upload a KML file, but each time, I can not view it on wordpress.

    I’ve tried it directly via word press but it says it cannot due to security reasons.

    Sorry, this file type is not permitted for security reasons.

    is there a option I need to tick?

    I have also tried to FTP the file,
    however, is doesn’t show in the “Media Library”
    So i created a new folder called GPS in /public_html/wp-content/uploads

    Then I also transfered the file to 04 (April) and still it doesn’t show

    What am I doing wrong?

    Also, if anyone knows an easy way to edit Placemarkers from a KML file, so i can upload to my blog my walking track for the day, I also would be apprected

    Update, I have found my error, But my big problem now is to remove the place markers
