• I was running WordPress 3.5.1.

The Dashboard had an upgrade path to 4.4.2 so I took it.

    • I have been reeling every since and having to add things like mysql_connect() and mysql_select_db() statements in many of my plugins and scripts in order to get the sits to work again.
    • I need to reset my MySQL User password and update the wp_config.php settings in order to get the site to work again.
    • many other strange results and anomalies are surfacing causing major issues with the site.

Does anyone have an idea as to what’s up and.or what went wrong?

    – Any error message?
    – Please check the error logs on your server for a more specific error message and see why it’s failing. If you need help locating them, ask your hosting provider to help you with that.
    – If you cannot find error logs or if you don’t find any helpful info in the error logs, try Enabling debugging .
