• Newbie query – I searched but could not find.

    When I add a new page, the page’s name does not seem to appear on the Page menu of other pages until I open that page and save it.

    In other words, if I have three pages: home, contact, and about – and I add a new page called newpage – newpage will not appear on the page menu on home until I bring it up in the edit mode and save it. I have to do the same thing on contact and about.

    The question: is there any way to accomplish this in one step, without having to bring up and save each existing page separately?

  • I’d venture a guess it’s tied up with WordPress’ caching. A couple ways to test this next time you add a Page are:

    1. Through an ftp client (or if your host provides one, an online file manager), go into wp-content/cache/ where you’ll find a subdirectory with a long string of mixed numbers/letters for a name. In there will be a page/ directory. Delete that (and its content). WordPress will recreate it.
