• I am pretty sure the answer is simple and I am just overlooking something, but how can someone who subscribed to my blog unsubscribe?

I understood there’s no possibility to set a 1Click Opt-Out in the E-Mail but how could someone unsubscribe if that’s not possible?

    Looking forward to your reply.

    Regards

There should be a ‘Subscribe’ button and an ‘Unsubscribe’ button on your form where users enter their email. Clicking the ‘Unsubscribe’ button will send a confirmation email (just like for signing up) only the process on clicking the link in the email removes the subscriber.

I only have a Subscribe button showing up. Don’t see how to make an Unsubscribe button appear. I see no option under Settings for doing so.

    Shortcode or Widget?

If it’s shortcode you must be using a parameter like this [subscribe2 hide='unsubscribe'], remove the parameter so you are left with just [subscribe2].

If it’s the Widget then you can change the settings on the WordPress widgets page at Appearance->Widgets.

Thanks! I found it under Widgets.

One other question. I saw some other posts about including a direct link to Unsubscribe within emails. The Subscribe and Unsubscribe buttons spawn a window via Jquery rather than an actual page, though. What would the URL be for Unsubscribe?

The paid version – Subscribe2 HTML has the feature to add unsubscribe links to outgoing emails but not the free version. More details here:
