How to unload webp version of images?

I came here to do the same question. But in my case, webp are not showing in Chrome either. Not showing at all in all browsers.

That is actually expected behavior. WebP is not supported in Edge or Firefox, and so when someone uses that browser to visit, they are served the JPG or PNG. As long as you are seeing WebP in Chrome, then it is working properly.

Which brings us to you, @laura530 ??

We’ll need a little more information to figure out why the WebP images aren’t working for you. Did you purge your cache after enabling WebP? Can you provide your URL so we can have a look? Also, your environment report might be handy. You can generate one at LiteSpeed Cache > Report, and press the Send to LiteSpeed button. Then come back here and let us know what the Report Number is.

Oh, I see. Apologies for misunderstanding.

It’s possible your CDN is causing the issue. Can you verify this by turning off the CDN temporarily, and trying again?

Did you turn off the WebP option for now? (I visited your site in Chrome and Firefox, and I see the images in both, but both are JPG.)

Please provide us with a copy of your environment report. Navigate to LiteSpeed Cache > Report, press the Send to LiteSpeed button, make note of the Report Number, and then post the number here.

Also, it would be helpful to have a look at your debug log. Make sure WebP is enabled, reload the page, and then from the command line in the WordPress root directory enter:

tail -f wp-content/debug.log

There should be lines related to WebP in the log.

There’s an easier way to get the debug log, if you’d prefer to stay away from the command line:

1. If there is no “Debug Log” option in the LiteSpeed Cache menu, then navigate to LiteSpeed Cache > Settings > Debug and make sure that Debug Log is set to ON.
2. Make sure the WebP option is on, and reload one of your pages.
3. Navigate to LiteSpeed Cache > Debug Log
4. Copy the most recent lines from the log and post them here.
5. Turn logging off, if you wish

Are you sure you saw the JPG images at the point 2. Companionship and 3. Training the dog?
They only show .webp version on Chrome at my end. Although Image WebP Replacement ON or OFF!

Sorry, I forgot to clarify that I could solve the problem. The plugin was not working because my files were, for example:
filename.jpg
filename.webp
To function properly, the plugin need: filename.jpg.webp.

Anyway, I’m not using the webp files, because the page speed slows down a lot.

Oh, so you provided your own WebP’s, are were not using the ones generated by the plugin? I see. And that filename issue definitely explains why it didn’t work! Thank you for sharing your solution.

You’re seeing WebP images even when you have the option turned off? That sure sounds like there is a cache someplace. Did you purge your LiteSpeed cache and your CDN cache after changing the setting? Is it possible you are caching also at the browser level?

Thank you for providing the debug log. Hopefully our developer or support team can see something there that will help explain the issue.

One thing I notice is that you are being served from private cache. That may explain why you and I are seeing different results – I would be served from public cache as I was not logged in.

I purged the LiteSpeed cache and CDN cache after changing the setting. Also, I disabled Browser cache. Even, images don’t show when I use a Proxy.

I’m not sure what to tell you. Before I bother with the screenshots, I can tell you that in Chrome, I am not seeing WebP images. This is the code behind the dog in the hammock image, according to Inspect:

Would you please provide a copy of your Environment Report for us to take a look at? It might be helpful in determining if any of your settings could be causing this behavior.
