    Hello there!

hope you’re having a good day.

I installed the Post Types Order plugin after installing and using the Quick and Easy FAQs plugin, as recommended by WPBeginner.

Unfortunately, after install of Post Types Order, I immediately noticed some strange things happening when I tried to edit/save this and other pages of my site.

    1) The formatting bar for the WP page distorted and jumped around, i.e. sometimes instead of being at the bottom it appeared halfway through the page, obscuring the text. Sometimes the page ‘flickered’. I’ve never seen this before and it’s quite hard to describe what I mean.

    2) I could not save any WP pages within my site, even ones without Post Types Order plugin. When I tried I got a red bar that said “Update failed”.

    3) I disabled both plugins and deleted the FAQs page (where I used the plugins + shortcode). Sadly, the plugin seems to have messed something up throughout my website as there immediately appeared to be a conflict on existing pages, i.e. pages I’d created and edited weeks before. They will not save at all, unless I remove the shortcode for my social media plugin [DISPLAY_ULTIMATE_PLUS] from every page. This did not happen before.

I have not deleted the Post Types Order plugin yet as I wanted to find out how to delete and REMOVE ALL traces of it.

I would be grateful of any advice or suggestions.

I have done so much work on my website last few days and reverting to an earlier back-up is not an option.

Really hope you can help or advise.

    Many thanks indeed.

    Amy

    I need to:

    Delete plugin
    Delete plugin and data
Delete plugin, data, and settings (full removal)

    Thank you in advance.

    Hi Amy,
Not sure what went wrong on your site, most probably there was a conflict, or maybe another code which you didn’t notice is the fault.
Actually the plugin does not deploy additional files on your server, either alter or add database tables. It store all order indexes within post table through menu_order column.
So once you de-activate the plugin, there are no traces of it anywhere. If you still encounter any issues once the plugin is inactive, you should seek the problem somewhere else, as being caused by another code.

    Thanks

Thank you very much for your reply, I appreciate it.

I will delete the plugin and investigate other sources of the problem.

    Have a great day.
