How to UN INDEX pages

  • Hello. During an investigation I noticed that on search engines appear not only my posts and tag archives bit also pages which appear like mysite.com/page/6 or mysite.com/page/7. How can I un idex them?

  • You can disallow them from being indexed by adding the following to your robots.txt file:
    Disallow: /page/

    Yes, the said pages will be un-indexed – can’t say how long it will take as search engines take their own time. For more help with such questions, use the help links at your Google Webmaster tools account and/or use other Google forums.

    One last question. What about pages like mysite.com/tag/something-tagged/page/8? Will also these be unindexed?

    Not probably as you are not blocking /tag/ and I doubt if tags are paginated.
