Sometimes I use Wordfence Central to scan multiple sites on one server.

Sometimes the server can’t handle all the scans at the same time – and the sites go down, so I cant log in.

Is there a way to turn off the scan process externally via Wordfence Central or any other way?

    Thanks

  • Hi @wordpressrun

It is possible to stop the scan from Wordfence Central.

We actually do not recommend running all the scans at the same time due to server crashing and caching issues.

We recommend doing a fresh install of the plugin on each site at different times so no two scans are running at the same time.

    I hope this helps!

Hi Josh, How do you stop the scan from Wordfence Central? I can’t find the option for that.

    Thanks

    Hi there,

My apologies, Wordfence Central does not have functionality to stop scans, only start them.

What you might want to try is setting the Basic Scan Type Options to a Limited Scan which “Provides limited detection capability with very low resource utilization.”

Or uncheck all the scans in the General Options section on the Wordfence > Scan > Scan Options and Scheduling page

    I hope this helps!

    Best,

    Joshua
