    Hi,
Every time i change post slug for a page or a post, it gave me a 404 error.
when i disable the plugin, the posts redirects fine from old slug (URL) to new slug (URL)

monitoring posts option is already disabled by default in my setting but still, Automatic 301 redirection when a post’s URL or slug changes, any other idea.

    Thanks

    What gives you a 404?

If you have disabled the option then it is disabled. If you disable the plugin then WordPress will try to automatically redirect a post.

    Hi John,

Can you explain how those slug change redirects work exactly and why I would want to have that enabled?

Specifically when and what triggers the creation of the redirect.

There are more details about monitoring here:

    Hallo,

I am having the same problem. I had wordpress without the plugin, had some posts with changed urls, which then redirect nicely to new ones.

After activating the plugin those old redirects do not work any more.

@qoalu, that is a different problem. You will need to import your existing WordPress redirects from the import/export page
