How to Tranlsate Plugin Messages

I created my translation (po-file) now and placed it in the language folder. Am I done now? The translation is still not on the website…

File needs to be named according to your language code loaded by WordPress. If the language code is de_DE, file name should be:

gd-rating-system-de_De.mo

You need to use MO not PO file.

I did it as you said, but the translations don′t appear on site. It doesn′t work…

Is WordPress using the language you translated too? WP loads plugin translation files onlyy if WordPress is switched to the same language.

Yes, Worpdress is German and the mo-file is in the language directory (gd-rating-system-de_De.mo)

I tested, and it works. Problem is that you named the file incorectly:

Your name: gd-rating-system-de_De.mo
Correct name: gd-rating-system-de_DE.mo

Language code must be named correctly, if that is not the case, WordPress can’t load it.
