• Hi,
I’m noticing suspicious and frequent accesses to my website from particular countries. They come from organic search, but I’m sure they are not real.
I would discover the IP and block them.
I installed free BBQ plugin but it doesn’t solve the problem.
I tried to install Wordfence and All in One Security but I removed immediately because I’m afraid to cause problems to my website.
First of all I would know if I can find the IP of these suspected visitors, then what’s the best way to block them.
    Thanks

You can find the IPs from your web server’s access logs, and configure the server to block those IPs.

But you’re far more likely to make a mistake and “cause problems” while tweaking your webserver’s configuration manually… than using a WordPress plugin to do the same ??

So I’ll recommend you use the plugin instead… but use only one security plugin (unless you’re sure the multiple security plugins are doing completely different things).

In my view, though, the “best” way to ward off unwanted traffic is to use an external Web Application Firewall (WAF). This way, the bad or unwanted visitors are blocked externally without ever reaching my website, so my site/server doesn’t have to do any work fighting off such unwanted visitors. The free Cloudflare service does this excellently (plus a ton more things it does).
