• Hi Guys. My theme at https://WhereNextPhotography.com has gone a bit wonky! The large image is meant to be a slideshow but it doesn’t run and the small images at the bottom are meant to constitute a slider but the grab handle has disappeared and the slider doesn’t work. You can see how these features are meant to work at a new area of my site that I started setting up yesterday (https://charity.wherenextphotography.com).

When I installed the same theme on the new instance of WordPress (for the ‘charity’ subdomain), it worked perfectly but, when I deactivate and delete the theme from the main part of my site, clear the cache and then re-install the theme, the site remembers how it was set up before and is still broken. Does anyone know how to clear this information so that, as far as my site is concerned, it has never seen this theme before and will install a fresh instance of it?

    Thanks in advance!

  • You would need to edit the wp_options table in your database to remove the theme’s settings.

OK thanks. Any pointers on how to do that? I don’t even know how to access it let alone what to change!

Unless you are used to modifying database tables using something like PhpMyadmin, I really wouldn’t recommend trying it. You may have to hire someone to carry this out for you. Bear in mind that this person will first need to examine the theme to find out what options are being saved under what name, so this would not be a 5 minute job.

Ah, I see. I did have a crack at it with PhpMyadmin and tried deleting a the modularity-mods field (modularity is my theme) but it did…well…nothing really!

I think I might have to come at this from a different angle. Thanks anyway for your help.
