How to Test if Jetpack Subscriptions is Working

    I have Jetpack Subscriptions email boxes on multiple pages. I’ve had my site for a number of years and want to double-check that the service is working. However, I’ve exhausted all of my personal emails and Jetpack Subscriptions won’t send duplicates. Is there a way to test? I don’t want to be missing out on subscribers if there’s any issues.

    I have subscription boxes on the following pages:

    https://prayersandapples.com (Middle of the page, under the heading: “Don’t miss new blog posts!”)

    https://prayersandapples.com/blog/ (Top of the page, to the right of “Database includes 850+ studies”)

    Note: The header for the main blog page runs on every page except the home page – so I’m not sure if it’s necessary to check this subscription box on every single page or just one?

    The big subscription form on your home page isn’t powered by Jetpack Subscriptions. I assume you use a different plugin to create that box. It doesn’t really seem to work, though. I’d suggest checking with the plugin authors to get some tips on how to use that subscription option.

    The form appearing on your blog, though, works just fine. I just subscribed to your blog, and you can now see my email address in your subscriber list.

    If you’d like to test the form yourself, you could use an email alias if you use Gmail:
    https://support.google.com/mail/answer/12096?hl=en

    However, as you mentioned, I doubt it’s necessary to check if things work on each page. The form is the same on every page.

    Hi Jeremy, thank you so much for taking the time to help! I’ve reached out to my website designer to see if she has any additional insight. In the meantime, after reading your reply, I completely panicked and tried the google alias technique you suggested (you were right, it didn’t work). However, I also unsubscribed from my original address (not sure how I didn’t think of that before!) and tried with that email – and it DID work? I got the confirmation email immediately.

    Any idea why it might be working sometimes and not others? Could it maybe just be a Google Alias issue?

    This form isn’t powered by Jetpack, so I’m afraid I won’t be able to help you there. It seems to hook into Jetpack Subscriptions, but it doesn’t use the standard Jetpack Subscriptions form.

    I’d suggest getting in touch with your theme author, or the author of the plugin in charge of that subscription form.
