    Hi,

    Is there a way to temporarily disable a user in WordPress? It seems that I can only delete a user, but no way to disable it.

  • When you say disable, what you want to do? Restrict his backend access? If so, the simplest way would be to change his role to “Subscriber”. That will leave him with access only to his profile page.

    The best way to “disable” a user is to assign them the role labeled “No role for this site”. You will find it in the list of roles after Administrator.
