I need to configure EU VAT Assitant so that sales made from other companies in other countries (B2B) of the European Community have VAT deducted at checkout. I am trying to make purchases from an IP in Portugal or Germany, configuring the checkout as a client of those countries, including an EU VAT NUMBER corresponding to them, and it always shows the prices with VAT.
The prices of the products are included with this tax, so it would need to be subtracted. Is that possible? Thanks in advance.

The EU VAT Assistant validates EU VAT numbers and tells WooCommerce to apply an exemption when a valid number is entered. When that doesn’t happen, the causes could vary from an incorrect configuration of tax settings (e.g. taxes being calculated based on shop’s base address), to issues reaching the validation service, to conflicts caused by other elements.

The following article cover these topics in more detail and explain how to solve the various issues that could prevent the validation of VAT numbers and the deduction of VAT:

FAQ – VAT is not deducted when entering a valid VAT number

    Thanks Diego, problem solved.
The woocommerce configuration was correct, the problem was another. I explain it in case it is useful to other users.

The system did not recognize me as a valid company, so VAT was not deducted (my prices have the tax included in the price).

    To solve this inconvenient:
1st I have deleted all cookies (this step is not necessary if you have not made any purchase on the site with that browser)

2nd I have used a VPN so that the system recognizes my IP as originating in the country from which I tested the purchase. In my case, Easy VPN, extension for Chrome.

3rd I have searched for a valid VAT number for intra-community operators (they are shown in google with a simple search, for example “MultinationalCompanyName VAT number”

4th I have verified that the number is correct in a VAT number validation service, for example: https://ec.europa.eu/taxation_customs/vies/

Once this is done, configuring the VPN with the country from which the purchase is simulated, and entering a real VAT number, the system operates with VAT correctly.

    Five stars plugin, greetings Diego.

Thanks for your reply. Please note that the IP address used to connect to a site is not relevant for the VAT number validation. You can connect from the US, select France as a billing country and enter a French VAT number, and that will work just fine.
