How to strip styling except links when pasting RTF

I’m sure this is a WordPress-wide issue.

Bloggers paste in their text written on a word processor on their computer (necessary because otherwise you constantly lose work when the WordPress save doesn’t work properly or if you get disconnected or are logged out by time-outs, etc).

But pasting rft is MESSY. So you want to paste plain text, but you can’t, because then you lose linked text (which there is a lot sometimes) as well as paragraph formatting.

How are WordPress editors dealing with this? Have you found an online tool to strip html except links? or some other way?

Note to WordPress: this would probably be a good update — like the paste as plain text button you already have, but retain paragraphs and links.
