How to stop Responsive theme updates?

    The site was built with an earlier form of Responsive (3.24) and current updates break the site. I have to do a Restore every day. I disabled updates on the theme page and it didn’t work. How can I stop the updates?

    No one? If no one can answer this question then WordPress is useless to me and I will have to drop it.

    After many weeks the website did not update today. Will wait and see what happens tomorrow.
