  • I too would like to know how to hide the “edit” button.

    Found this tidbit below on StackOverflow, but don’t know how to implement it; no idea where, what file, what line, the code is supposed to be written to. (newbie here)

    Hi,

    thanks for your post, and sorry for the trouble, as well as for the late answer. As I was on vacation, I didn’t have a chance to reply earlier.

    No worries, that “Edit” link is only visible to logged-in users who are allowed to edit the table. No external user can see that link or edit a table!
    To check that, just surf to the site in a different browser (where you are not logged-in into WordPress) or use an “Incognito”/”Private” browsing session.

    If you still want to hide it (which is not necessary), you can use this TablePress Extension: https://tablepress.org/extensions/remove-edit-link/
