How to stop photo gallery from opening links in new tab

  • I have searched the forum to the best of my ability and have been unable to find answer to my specific issue.

    When you view a photo in a gallery on my site, and you click the “previous” or the “next” link it opens a new tab instead of just cycling to the next image in the gallery. I have modified my wordpress quite a bit, and I don’t think I caused this, but if someone could help me to remember where I would look to find where this instruction is happening I would really appreciate it.

    I have look in the following places for a target="_____"
    image.php
    attachment.php
    functions.php
