  • The domain of the site allegedly stealing your content is currently suspended by the registrar: domain status is clientHold

But to answer your general question, if your content is indeed appearing seconds after publishing, then there must be some automation involved. Such automation may be leveraging your site’s features such as:

    • RSS feed: configure your site to display only summaries, or even disable the RSS feed entirely if this is not a major traffic source for you
    • REST API: disabling this may break other site features, so you may keep it enabled but require authentication. There are plugins for this.

… Or they may just be scraping content off your site: this may not be likely when there are those other lower-hanging fruits, but you can use a WAF (ideally external ones like Cloudflare) to block known content scrapers and any unwanted visitors.

You may also go the legal route eg you may file an abuse complaint or even a DMCA takedown notice (if you and the host are based in the US) with the hosting provider of the site stealing your content.

One thing that’s never effective and only makes life difficult for your legitimate users is resorting to tricks like blocking the selecting/copying of text on the page. As I mentioned earlier, this alleged theft is likely automated — the thief is not coming to your site to copy your post and publish it on their own site within seconds after your posting. And even if they were to do this, bypassing such browser-based copy restriction so trivial that any thief would know how to do it… so such “protection” will not stop the thief, but will only annoy your legitimate user who may be highlighting or copying a sentence or paragraph for personal use.

How do i check my site to see if they are doing automated. I contacted their hosting company and reported it, so they took it down, but wont be long before they get a new hosting company. It is not just my content they were taking, they were taking full articles from big name brands as well as other sites. The shock is, they are doing it to promote a theme they are selling, so i have also contacted the site that are selling their theme to report it.

There’s no way to know. All you can do is block the possible avenues that such automation may be leveraging.

And note that my comment about automation was only based on your statement that the content was appearing on the other site within mere seconds after yours. But in the last example you gave above, there was nearly a 3-hour interval between the publication times of the two posts (I checked before the content was deleted on the other site).
