How to stop a DDOS attack
-
There seems to be an increase in DDOS attacks targeting global companies / websites these days. For some companies (large and small) this could be quite costly if not annoying!
I know that one could use CloudFare to mitigate this type of risk but depending on your budget this could be out of some people’s reach.
Can anyone give me the “low down” on how to stop a DDOS attacks if one is using WordPress? Does WordPress have a feature built into it to prevent these attacks or does is this that your hosting company has to implement and stop?
Other questions that come to mind are; is there a plugin to prevent this or could you have to add / edit .htaccess file ?
Some suggestions that I found on www.remarpro.com were over 5 years old so I don’t know how relevant those suggestions would be in this day and age.
