How to stay on @account’ page after password change?
-
Hi,
Does anyone know how I keep members on their profile/account page after they have changed their password instead of re-directing to another page?
I am probably missing something obvious in plugin ‘settings’?
Thank you for your help.

Hi @soccball01
Are you referring to users changing their password from the account page? The default behaviour is to stay on that same page after changing the password – with a notice at the top saying the password has been changed.
Where are your users being redirected to?
Hi,
Thank you for the reply.
yes, that’s what I though too but they are being logged out and redirected to the homepage for some reason.I presume I may have changed a setting in ‘redirects’?

Those redirect settings don’t apply to the Change Password form within the account page for a user.
Can you recreate the issue with your account?
Hi,
Thank you again for continued help …
This is what happens:
– Click on ‘Edit Account’
– … ‘Password’
– … Enter new password click on ‘Change Password’
– logs me out to homepage
– … but password does changeRegards
It sounds like another plugin is forcing that behaviour. Can you do me an export of the site’s health log via Tools > Site Health > Info > Copy site info to clipboard, and then only paste the plugins list please?
All I have on site health is this …

… no plugins mentioned?
If you click on the 2nd tab at the top ‘Info’ then you see the Active plugins info

Thanks. Can you temporarily disable Wordfence and test the password change again to see if that works?
Hi,
Yes, that seemed to do the trick.
Is this able to be worked around?Regards
Can you send me a message via https://wpusermanager.com/contact/ then you can send me on screenshots of your Wordfence settings so I can try to recreate please
I have unchecked ‘Alert when the “lost password” form is used for a valid user’ in Wordfence settings and it seems to have done the trick.
Many thanks for your help! Great support!
Keep this thread open for 48 hours just in case and, if all okay, just mark it closed.
Thank you.
Excellent thanks for the update!
Hi,
I have the same problem as above again after having to restore my site with a backup.
I have followed all the above and this time nothing changes, I am still thrown out of password change and have to logout, although the password does change.
I have also unchecked Alert when the “lost password” form is used for a valid user
… as I did before, but no luck.Regards
Does the problem get fixed again when disabling Wordfence?
