    Hi

Thank you for reaching out to us and for sharing the screenshot.

By default, a Wordfence scan looks at the following: wp-admin, wp-content, wp-includes, all subdirectories of those directories – all files in your base WordPress directory.

The option to “Scan files outside your WordPress installation” is not currently enabled in your configuration which explains the Path Skipped issue you’re having. When you enable this option, it scans all subdirectories of your WordPress installation, even if they aren’t part of WordPress.

If you would like to enable this option, please click on GO TO OPTION on the bottom left of the screenshot you shared and enable it. Otherwise, click on MARK AS FIXED.

I hope this is helpful. In case you have any further questions, please feel free to reach out to us.

    Thanks,
    Janet

I have “Mark as Fixed” but the scan results still show “server state” has a warning.
please help me with a clearer tutorial on which part of “go option” I should enable

    Hi @kumiskiri,

When you click on the “GO TO OPTION” button, you should enable the option “Scan files outside your WordPress installation” on the Scan options page. However, this may not be necessary since you already Marked it as fixed.

As for the Server State warnings, further explanation can be found in our article on Scan Stages. Server State warnings can be thrown by a number of factors as each stage involves a few different checks.

Server State scan stage checks are as below:

    • Scan for unauthorized DNS changes (discontinued)
    • Monitor disk space
    • Scan for misconfigured How does Wordfence get IPs
    • PHP Version Check (cannot be disabled)
    • Check Web Application Firewall status
    • Check for paths that are not scanned by default

If there is an issue with any of the steps above, there’s a likelihood of the yellow warnings being shown. I might be able to help more specifically by seeing scan result messages and your server configuration if you send me a diagnostic report.

Please send a diagnostic report to wftest @ wordfence . com. You can find the link to do so at the top of the Wordfence > Tools > Diagnostics page. Then click on “Send Report by Email”. Please add your forum username where indicated and respond here after you have sent it.

NOTE: It should look as follows – Screenshot of Tools > Diagnostic > Send by Email

    Thanks,

    Janet
