how to show the latest posts only from one category in the front page?

You could use some custom CSS in order to only show display posts from a certain category.

To add custom CSS: Firstly set up a child theme or activate a custom CSS plugin. (If you have Jetpack installed then you can activate its custom CSS module.)

The following custom CSS would hide posts the front page that are have been placed in the Example category:

.home .post {
    display: none;
}

.home .category-example {
    display: block;
}

You can replace example in the above snippet with the name of the category you wish to be displayed.
