How to show only the last 10 most recent posts?

What do you mean by “randomize to the last 10 most recently dated posts”?

If you want to display the 10 most recent posts, you can do the following:

1. set “Number of Posts to Show” to “10”
2. set “Order by” to “Publish Date”
3. set “Order” to “Newest posts first”

If you want to display 10 random posts, you can do the following:

1. set “Number of Posts to Show” to “10”
2. set “Order by” to “Random”
3. set “Order” to “Newest posts first”

Ahh… My bad. I wasn’t clear in my original post ??

I want to randomly show only 1 post at a time of the most recent 10 posts in the category.

I understand now. That’s unfortunately outside the scope of this plugin. In order to display a random post from the 10 most recent, you’d have to first grab the 10 most recent posts and then randomly select from the results. While the Advanced Posts Widget has a lot of filters in it to modify it’s actions, this particular one is covered. Sorry!
