How to Show Only rating in custom query?

There are several threads requesting this feature. I started trying to write some custom code to accomplish this, but I am running into some issues with PHP and object instantiation.

Maybe if you or someone else can have a look at my approach, and help resolve the object loading issue we can implement this feature request.
