How to show full post, not excerpt

I’m using WordPress 4.7.2 with the Velux theme created by godaddy. My blog posts seem stuck on excerpts instead of full text. I’ve changed the options in the reading settings as instructed in other replies, but that hasn’t done anything. I’ve tried switching my main page to the blog posts instead of a static to see if that helped and that didn’t do anything. I’ve tried to edit my .php in the theme but that doesn’t seem to do anything either (I couldn’t find any entry for the the_content in any of my files). Does anyone have any ideas of what I need to edit to fix this issue?
