How to show category and sub category

  • Hi Experts

    i am trying to show category and sub category.

    1st i would like to have a list of categories in the left menu. and when i click any of the category the button should expand to show the list of sub categories for the particular category.

    or can any one suggest me any plugin so that i can use that.

    please help me on this.
