How to show blog posts as excerpts on blog page

Hi,
I was wondering if anyone knows how to display my blog posts as excerpts on my blog ( aka news ) page on my site. I have a full length image as a header on one of my news articles and it doesnt look good showing on my blog page, so the read more option does not help me much.

I looked around on the forum but still cant find an answer that works.
