How to set up staging site with a different TXT DNS record

  • Dear MailPoet,

    I’m trying to set up a staging site with MailPoet Sending Service and have verified 3 of the 4 DNS records, the only one that isn’t is the TXT starting with “_mailpoet”. I already have that record for my production site’s separate MailPoet account and it works fine. But my staging site’s MailPoet account wants me to add a different TXT record for “_mailpoet”. My server has just the single set of records, so having a duplicate record with a different value will not work. How can I get the staging site’s MailPoet account to verify with a TXT record for “_mailpoet”?

    I understand you are facing issues with DNS on your staging site. In order to assist you better, we need to take a look at your account and we’re unable to locate it. Could you please share your email address associated with your MailPoet account that is being used on the staging site?

    Hi Riyaz,

    Many thanks for getting back! It turns out I was misinformed (by others, no one here!) that having two DNS records with the same name but different values wouldn’t work. I tried simply adding a second record as my staging version of MailPoet asked, and it all seems to have worked, so no support is needed. Thank you again for your response.
