• Hello there,

I’ve taken on a new client who is into real estate…

This is my first foray into the real estate market so I’m on a huge learning curve. I’ve chosen WP-Property because of it’s credentials and popularity. I’m also a bit of a WordPress newbie…so be gentle..

I’ve been through all the on-line videos and documentation (which is a bit thin) and am battling with getting a handle on how to get things done.

I’ve loaded the plugin and WordPress on my PC using InstantWP because I don’t want the test system to be visible on the web.

let me tell you what I’ve done:

    1. I have set up individual pages such as “Homes for Sale”, “Homes for Rent”, “Commercial Sales”, “Commercial Rentals” etc
    2. I’ve created some dummy properties for each of the property types in point 1.

Now what I’m trying to understand is how to get each group of properties to show up on each page???
Example: all Homes for Sale to show up on the “Homes for Sale” page and Commercial sales to show up on the “Commercial Sales” page.

I’ve looked at all the short codes but just don’t get it….drats

Any advice and help will be much appreciated.

Also, I’m using a theme from iThemes as well…

    Regards
    Greg

Got help from the WP-Property forum directly:

You can simply make property types: “Homes for Sale”, “Homes for Rent”,“Commercial Sales, assign properties to them and paste customized shortcode [property_overview property_type=homes_for_sale] to your “Homes for Sale” page.

    Hi Launchpad135,

Even I am working on a site which has the requirements similar to yours. Can you please help me out on how to add new ‘Property Type’ in the drop down? Trying to search this for a long time but no success still.

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Launchpad135,

I was just going through the plugin where I found that I had to click on ‘Check Updates’ link. Once this was done, the new links -> Developer, Premium Features appeared under Settings. Hence then under Developer I could add new Property Type.

    Thanks
