• My website is new and I am installing template, installing plugins, …. I do not want Google to index my pages in this moment.
    I created a robots.txt file to disallow all, but at the same time I would like to get this html code:
    <meta name=”robots” content=”noindex, nofollow”>
    on ALL pages.

    Is there a simple way to accomplish that?

  • I would encourage you not to mess with your robots.txt file at all.
    Just go to Settings -> Reading in the admin and check “Discourage search engines from indexing this site”.
    Most search engines will obey this, but some bots may still crawl your site.

    Install a plugin “Maintenance Mode” by Lukas Juhas or one similar to keep your site private while doing your work. It is a good plugin that gets the job done.
