How to set new default for "View all Categories" menu on post screen

  • What I want to do is set a default category filter (the drop down that says “View all Categories” on the All Posts admin page. So when you to the All Posts page you only see posts for a certain category instead of all of them.

    I assume it would go in functions.php.
    I have been googling but haven’t found anything.
