How to set menu item order?

    How can you set the order in which menu items are shown? I have tried several possible menu item orders, but the items just seem to be shown in a semi-random order.

  • Hey,
    You can arrange the order of menus in your theme manually.
    Go to Appearance -> menu select main-menu to edit and tick the bottom checkbox which asks for display location – top in menu setting.
    Now you will be able to rearrange the menus.

    I tried that, but no matter how I shuffle them around, the actual order just does not match the set order in any logical way.

    It’s possible you have more than one menu saved, and the menu you are editing isn’t the one that’s selected for that menu location.

    Looking at the site, it looks like the menu named mijn-navigatie is the one currently being used. Can you use either:

    Appearance > Menus
    or
    Appearance > Customize > Menus

    To edit mijn-navigatie and see if that does the trick? Personally, I prefer the Customizer option, because then I can see the menu while I’m working on it. ??
