Is there a way to set a non-admin (such as an editor) as a trainer and course creator?

    Hi there,

thank you for reaching out. You can grant non admins the trainer “role” but this only allows them to view the progress of their students in the frontend, but only if you have our user learning progress extension installed. Trainers are not able to manage courses.

We are working on something like an lms-manager user role, that will only allow to manage CLUEVO content and users. There is no release date set jet but will be in one of the future updates.

In the meanwhile you could try the advanced access manager plugin available in the directory.

I hope this helps and all the best,
    Elias

Thanks so much for your reply. I look forward to the lms-manager user role. For now, is there a list of capabilities that a role might need to create and manage courses?

    Thanks again

    Hi again,

at the moment the user needs admin capabilities to manage LMS features. So you would have to use an admin user and restrict the capabilities of said user.
Please be aware that this is a blacklist approach and if you forget to restrict vital capabilities, the trainers could still be able to alter your page. If you only got a couple of trainers that you trust not to intentionally break you page and just don’t want them to see all the other admin settings, something like the advanced access manager plugin could still be a valid approach. But please decide for yourself if it meets your security needs.

    Best,
    Elias
