How to set a default field value for the text editor field

I have two questions…

1. I have created a cpt that supports the standard editor field. Is there a way I can assign a default value to that field so that if no entry is manually made into the editor, then the default value will be there (needs to be a shortcode for the default value.)

2. Is there a way to have a ‘calculated field’ in Pods. i.e. a Pods field (virtual or real) that can be created which uses several other fields / shortcodes to compose it. The intent being that I can insert the calculated field in multiple places, and then change it in one location to have the changed effective wherever the calculated field is placed.
