How to send trackbacks? I can't find that option on Post page.

  • Hello guys,

    if I want to send a trackback, how to actually do it?
    If I add New Post, write the article and want to send trackback URL, I can’t find any field which would enable doing it.

    I did check “Allow notifications from other blogs” in DISCUSSION tab, but I still can’t find anything anywhere, what would allow working with trackbacks.

    Same if I want to provide trackback URL of my posts to some other blogger, again, how is this done?

  • You send a trackback by linking to a post on someone else’s blog.

    thanks for your response. I apologize, but I still don’t know how it works.

    There is no field on my Post page allowing me to input trackback URL of
    the blog I am referring to.

    In my Post, I did create a link to someone else’s blog.
    I did obtain trackback URL of that blog.
    And now I should input that URL into field “send trackback” on my Post page
    shouldn’t I?

    Like in this tutorial:
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fCCq3K7XpEI&feature=related

    But there is no such option on my Post page.

    There is no field on my Post page allowing me to input trackback URL of the blog I am referring to.

    If you insert a link to someone else’s blog in your content, that is a trackback.

    Oh really? Is it all automatic?

    So if I include a link to John’s blog post while writing my own blog, it appears in John’s Blog post Comment area? and if John approves it, then link to my blog post will appear in comment area of that John’s blog post?

    And vice versa?

    Does this work with all blogs? Or it only works between WordPress blogs?

    Yes – on blogs that accept pingbacks & trackbacks.

    It’s not WordPress specific but, offhand, I don’t know how many other blogging systems it applies to.
