How to sell 1on1 videochat consulting sessions?

  • Hi and a Happy New Year everybody.

    Basically I am stuck with wordpress since about a year and am hoping for you to help me.

    I have created a website for my mother who is a Hypnotherapist and she wants to sell her Hypnotherapy and Coaching Sessions online. We intend to do the Video Sessions via Skype. The visitors should be able to book a certain session/product and choose the time and date and then pay with paypal.

    Unfortunately I dont know how to go about this..
    I have the sites ready and basically all I need now is a button that says “book now” and then a calendar where they can book the exact time (if it is free for booking) and an option to pay via paypal and maybe other payment methods.

    First I thought I need something like bookly to do the booking, or at least the free appointment booking plugin from wordpress but they dont fit my website visually. Then I got stuck mentally on the idea that I need woocommerce and sell digital products online (but I dont want a shopping cart or anything reminding the visitors of a “shop”) so I always felt overwhelmed by this because woocommerce is so big etc. I never got further than installing it .. the setup always irritated me.

    What is the best solution to go about this?
    Can anybody tell me please?

    I assume that so far your Mom has just been “taking booking appointments over the phone or email” ?
    How has she been processing payments ?

    no.. she online does offline work at the moment. We have never done anything online because I can’t get the website up and running-

    Thank you for providing the links. My thing with the upfront cost is this: what if they go offline? what if I cant get anybody to my website? and they will process all the data, I assume so they get all the customers data and I cannot provide the clients with the safety of knowledge that there data is not being misused.

    The limitations I come to with the free versions are mostly aesthetic. The Website has a very distinct design with many colours and moving pictures and well .. it just doesnt look good and ruins the whole visual of the site.

    I will think about it and thank you for your time and effort.

    FWIW, If a plugin’s basic functionality and HTML output is acceptable, but you don’t like the way it looks visually, the visual aspect can be altered with added CSS code. You do need to know how create your own CSS code, which can be added to the Additional CSS section of the customizer.
