thanks for your reply. At this moment I am not planning to implement a global search feature over multiple directories. Maybe in the future, but at this time I don’t see the point. Pagination on the other hand, that sounds like a good idea.
Don’t worry about your site getting slow. It will have to output a lot of words on one page, but that shouldn’t be a big problem for PHP. Slowliness these days is mostly caused by Javascript (lots of javascript libraries on one page) or the use of (too) many images.
Just the output of the Glossary shouldn’t be a problem.
My advice: create one directory and set “Show all names by default” to No (you can do this in the settings for that directory). That way, a user HAS to click on a character in the index (a-z) to view the names/things in your list. That will save you the hassle of creating 26 different name directories AND pages which you HAVE to LINK to eachother for the user to get a pretty good experience. But that’s just my two cents.
