    Hi,
I am redesigning an event website that has a limited number of event entries for sale once a year. Since the entries are limited there is more demand the supply. We have to create a lottery so that everyone has a fair chance of buying an entry to the event. I need to save and authorize the payment of the users. If a user is picked in the lottery I can capture payment a week later. A previous webmaster was able to do this with stripe on a custom hand-coded website. I was told be woocommerce that this is possible using the WooCommerce Stripe Payment Gateway.

Do I need to have both WooCommerce plugin with a connected stripe express account and the WooCommerce Stripe Payment Gateway plugin installed? I might be able to access the original stripe account used on the live site. Can I transfer that account over to WooCommerce Stripe Payment Gateway or will I have to create a new stripe account?
    Thank you

    Hello!

You can use a regular Stripe account for that, and the settings can be found by going to WooCommerce > Settings > Payments & transactions.

That option will help you to process the payment later, but be aware that the charge must be captured on the order details screen within 7 days of authorization, otherwise the authorization and order will be canceled.

We haven’t heard back from you in a while, so I’m going to mark this as resolved – we’ll be here if and/or when you are ready to continue.
