how to run updated links?

  • I’ve selected ‘Track Links Update Times’ under Options/Misc.

    I’ve read elsewhere that I must also run a cron to run /wp-admin/update-links.php for this to work. I can’t find any documentation on the WP site for this and I’m confused.

    When I try to run /wp-admin/update-links.php I get this error:

    Warning: fsockopen(): unable to connect to api.pingomatic.com:80 in /home/mydomain/public_html/wp/wp-admin/update-links.php on line 26

    Can someone tell me what I’m doing wrong? Thanks ??

    Btw, I am using wp 2.0.2

  • It has been broken since the middle of January or so (some changes at ping-o-matic I think). As far as I know, no fixes/ alternatives have been turned up yet.

    Google Reader’s “put on site” works well. Though it’s a script.
