how to run static .php files in same directory as WordPress, .htaccess issues

  • Hello,
    I have WordPress running fine, but when I also load static files to a directory like wordpress/static-file-directory/file.php, it just loads the wordpress index page. How can I modify the htaccess file to still use permalinks properly, but to allow static .php files too in the same directory?
