How to restrict access tu newsletter suscibers ?

Well, looks like there’s no need for extra code for this functionality. You actually need to hire those articles from your website instead. If you add them to a special category, then you need to “not show” that category on your website. But when you create a newsletter, you just need to add those posts in there. Does it make sense?! Try to look your issue from another perspective. You need to hide those posts from your website and not “only allow for my newsletter subscribers”. Since only your subscribers will have the link to those articles.

Of course I tried this, and it works, and it should be the basis of this functionality.
But it has some restrictions depending on use cases. So I need to enhance it…

Imagine I have 2 articles that are only accessible from the newsletter… The only way for our reader to see them is to click inside the newsletter, twice. Not so good in term of user experience I think.

What I want to do is that the user clicks to read the first article from the newsletter, then he will be detected has a reader, so by browsing our site, he can access all restricted materials.
The initial idea was to get some information from the url or trigger any function with a hook . Then to create a transient for maybe, 24 hours. During the life of the transient, the reader/user can access to all restricted articles…

So I “”just”” need to check if it is a reader or not. And of course, for caching reasons, I do not want to create a new user for new each reader.

A further step will be to offer specific coupons for our future online shop…. Not a joke, really wanted function … ??
