How to restrict access to templates, styles etc

    I’m currently in the process of rebuilding a site using a block theme. I want to ensure that editors and authors cannot edit/access custom templates, styles, or anything else that has the potential of breaking the site. What is the optimal way of restricting access for certain users? I also do not want to use a plugin for this. I’ve tried to find documentation but haven’t really found anything. I just want editors and authors to add and update content, use available blocks and patterns. If anyone can point me to the correct documentation and best practice for this it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

  • By default, only users with the Administrator role have access to themes and the Site Editor.

    So, by default, users with the Editor and Author roles should NOT be able to edit any of the things you mentioned.
