I just tried out the “View As” feature and set the view to customer. Works fine, EXCEPT I’ve lost the ability to return to the default admin view (since the customer sees no admin menus therefore the “View as” menu is hidden. So I’m effectively locked out of my site! How do I disable the customer view as return to admin view?

@deralict in the “View Admin as Role” module description, there’s a warning box that says:

If something goes wrong and you need to regain access to your account as an administrator, please visit the following URL:
    https://www.yoursite.com/?reset-for=username

So, simply visit that URL and replace ‘username’ with your username.

By the way, the “View as” dropdown will change to “Viewing as Customer”, which is still a dropdown that has a “Switch back to Administrator” link if you hover on it. That’s the default way to return to your Administrator view.

Let me know if either way works for you.

@deralict hey… I’d hate to see you leave ASE because you missed reading the instructions to get back to your administrator role. Hope you have time to test it again. For now, I’m closing this thread.
