how to resize column section?

    hey im getting started with elementor but facing some problem…

    when i look at the first 2 mins of this tut it actually looks pretty easy but for me its just not like that…
    when i add a new section my column is not on full width like in that tutorial.
    my column always looks like this:

    it doesnt matter if I change the column width to 100% or go on custom and choose 1920×1080.
    there is just no change of the colum size. also when i try to put the cursor on the boarder of the column to drag nothing happens like Ive seen in some tuts.

    can anybody please tell me how to resize columns when i start from scratch?

    and btw when I insert a pre made template the columns look really weird, check out the screen please…

    but i cant change anything about it. please I really need a solution for this otherwise im stuck with elementor.

  • Hi,

    Without an actual url it is very hard to help and or inspect what is cooking in your kitchen -:).

    I suspect there is some third party plugin conflict that causes this, because I have 50+ sites running on Elementor/OceanWP theme and do not encounter this problem.

    Have you tried all the troubleshoot steps to find the culprit yet?

    Make sure it’s not a theme problem. Switch temporarily to one of the default WordPress themes to see if problem disappears. (You can easily switch back to your theme and your changes will still be there, although the obligatory, “always make a backup first” is a good idea).

    hey i want to thank both of you for helping me out.
    I actually dont know what I made wrong before but somehow its working now. I think I somehow did not adjust to full width right from start after inserting the column and doing it afterwards was more complicated to me…

    anyways both of your comments helped me to understand that it wasnt a common problem but more like a lack of understanding on my side…

    P.S. it keeps being weird that whenever i insert templates, some of them, are not inserted perfectly. but since I just need to create five pages Im fine now with the templates i can load…
    maybe when i have time to check for the cause i will look for the cause of that…

    so far im good ??
