  • 1. In your dashboard, goto setting->permalinks. Select the “Post Name” Option and save it.

    2. Now open the portfolio page in page editor. Under title of the page, you will see the permalink option. You can edit it from there.

    Hi,

Thank you for the quick reply back. I did that but I can only edit the name of the post on the link, which is fine but I would like to edit the part before that which is called “portfolio”.

    Thanks

    Hey,
This is an option in premium but not with free. You would have to edit the virtue-toolkit plugin. In the post-types.php line 27.

Hi guys Im having the same issue. I tried to follow these steps but its not working.

    I want to change https://www.likenewpcs.com/portfolio-view/in-tempus/

    to Just https://www.likenewpcs.com/laptop-repair

Any help would be much appreciated. thank you

A custom post type can’t have a url like that. it doesn’t work with worpdress. You have to have a post type slug before the post title.

Thank you for the reply. When you say post type slug before post title. Can you explain. Thank you

The custom post type is portfolio posts. the slug for that post type is “portfolio”.

You can change the slug but you can’t have a url that doesn’t have a slug. wordpress doesn’t allow it because of conflicts. At least by default wordpress doesn’t allow it. There might be some hack someone has come up with but I haven’t seen one.
